The Azerbaijani army does not only continue the shelling of Karabakh civilian settlements, but, out of habit, also tries to portray it the other way round, accusing the Karabakh side of shelling Azeri peaceful settlements, NK’s Defense Ministry reports.

“Our press-release, published earlier, made reference to the shelling of Matagis settlement by Azerbajani Armed Forces. The Karabakh side, adhering to its adopted tactics of speaking-the-facts, offers video proof on heavy shelling of Matagis civilian settlement in early hours of April 28.

For  the NKR armed forces, all the military objectives, highlighted in the photos, according to the norm of the Customary International Humanitarian Law (which among others are enshrined in Art. 52 of the Protocol Additional to the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, relating to the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts (ProtocolI)) are legitimate military targets.

Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, in violation of the norm of the Customary International Law reflected in Art. 58 of the above-mentioned Protocol did not refrain from deploying military objectives in the populated areas or in the vicinity of them.
